DESIGN
FUNDAMENTALS

Analogous: (Green, Yellow, Orange, Red, Purple, Blue). Exploration of analogous color relationships, focusing on color harmony, transitions, and visual cohesion.

Color Wheel: Foundational study of color theory, exploring hue, saturation, value, and relationships between primary, secondary, and tertiary colors.

Chroma Project: Study of chroma and color intensity through geometric patterns, exploring saturation, value, contrast, and visual energy.

Transparency Project: Exploration of transparency and layering through overlapping forms, focusing on opacity, color interaction, depth, and composition.

Negative Space: An exploration of positive and negative space through the use of geometric forms and contrasting values. This project focused on how the spaces between and around shapes can become active elements of a composition, creating balance, symmetry, depth, and visual movement.

Line & Negative Space Study: An exploration of positive and negative space using line, repetition, and geometric forms. This study examines how changes in line direction, density, and spacing can define shapes and create visual movement without relying on traditional filled forms.

Shape & Negative Space Study: A study of positive and negative space through overlapping circular forms. By varying the scale, placement, and density of the shapes, this project explores how the surrounding negative space becomes an active part of the composition, creating contrast, balance, and depth.

PROCESS & EXPLORATION

FINAL COMPOSITION

Final Project: A culmination of the design fundamentals explored throughout the course, combining color theory, composition, positive and negative space, line, shape, pattern, scale, balance, and visual hierarchy into a single composition. The project challenged me to apply these principles cohesively while creating movement, depth, and contrast across multiple visual elements.
